Indexation
To ensure that the latest information about products, offers, and availability is displayed in the front office, it is essential to regularly update the index. Indexation is the process of compiling and organizing product data so it can be quickly retrieved and displayed accurately. This process ensure that customers see current details, pricing, and availability, which enhances the shopping experience and improves the reliability of the product information.
Each time new products are added, or existing product details (such as descriptions, prices, or inventory levels) are modified, the index needs to be refreshed.
A well-maintained index also improves search performance, as users can find relevant products faster, resulting in a smoother and more responsive interface.
Configuration
In order to know which product needs to be displayed on the front office, we have rules to update the index :

Different types of indexation
To keep product data accurate and relevant, our system provides three different methods for updating the index. Each method is designed to address specific business needs, allowing clients to select the approach that best fits their operational requirements.
Continus indexation
This method ensures that updates are processed in real-time or near-real-time. Any change in product data, such as pricing, stock levels, or descriptions, is immediately reflected in the front office. Continuous indexation is ideal for businesses with frequently changing data, as it allows for a highly responsive customer experience with minimal delay. This feature is always activated.

Partial indexation
Partial indexation can be activated by authorized Back Office users with the appropriate role. This option allows users to selectively re-index only the products that have undergone modifications within a specified time frame, rather than updating the entire catalog. Users can choose to apply updates to products changed within a range of up to 5 days prior, enabling a targeted refresh that is both time-efficient and resource-effective.
Full Indexation
In this comprehensive approach, the entire product catalog is re-indexed to ensure all data is fully synchronized. Full indexation is typically scheduled less frequently due to its scope, but it’s essential after major catalog changes, structural updates, or reconfigurations. This method guarantees that every aspect of the product data is current and consistent across the front office.
