Front end users (Customers)

Front-end Users (or Customer Users)

A front-end user is a physical person who places an order or a quote via the customer interface.

Key Characteristics

  • A user can be linked to an organisation and/or an account.

  • A user is assigned to one or more stores.

    📘

    Example

    EMEA Store and Asia Store

    In a multinational group:

    • Employees from Business Units in EMEA have user accounts created on the EMEA store
    • Employees from Business Units in Asia have accounts on the Asia store

Each store offers a tailored product catalog and appropriate payment methods.

  • A user may be assigned to multiple accounts.

When logging in, the user may be prompted to select which account to operate under. If catalog views are configured, the user will access the product catalog of the selected account, and can also switch between accounts.

    📘

    Example

Sales agent responsible for two accounts

If agent A manages two construction agency accounts, they can log in and access both using the same customer user credentials.

    They could for instance:

    • View orders placed by other users of the same account
    • Access product catalogs specific to each agency
    • Share favorite product lists
