Catalog views - Products selection

A guide to managing Catalog View content with manual product selection.

Manual product selection lets you explicitly choose which products or variants are included in a Catalog View.
This approach offers fine-grained control over product visibility, but requires manual updates as the catalog evolves.

Creating a Catalog view by adding products/variants manually

  1. Navigate to the Catalog -> Catalog views tab.
  2. Click on Create Catalog view.
  3. Fill in the Basic information :
    • Name (mandatory): A clear and unique name to identify the catalog.
    • External ID (mandatory): A unique identifier without spaces or accents for API integration.
    • Status (mandatory): Define a status for the catalog (Active, Inactive)
    • Description(mandatory): Add a description for the catalog
  4. Select the Product selection option to be able to add products and variants manually.
    • You can switch between Product View and Variant View depending on how you want to work.
ℹ️

Note: When you add a product, all of its existing variants are automatically included in the catalog view.

  • A search bar is available to help you find the relevant products or variants using the following criteria:
    • Variant name
    • Variant external ID
    • Variant SKU
    • Product name
    • Product external ID
    • Product SKU
  1. Choose the Customer accounts that will have the restricted view.
  • A search bar is available to help you find the relevant accounts using the following criteria:

  1. Click on Create to generate the new Catalog View.
ℹ️

Note : Once created, you can continue to configure its content and visibility settings.

❗️

Important

Variants created after a product has been added to a Catalog View are not included automatically. To include them, they must be added manually via the Variant View or by re-adding the product.

Updating a Catalog view content

You can manually add or remove products and variants from a Catalog View at any time, giving you precise control over the variants included or excluded from the catalog.

Catalog View content can be managed through two complementary views:

  • Product View, which groups variants by their parent product
  • Variant View, which displays each variant individually for more granular control
  1. Add to Catalog
  2. Go to Catalog → Catalog Views.
  3. Open the details page of the relevant Catalog View.
  4. Click Add to catalog.
  5. Select the products or variants to include, depending on the active view.
ℹ️

Note: When you add a product, all of its existing variants are automatically included in the catalog view.

Remove products or variants from the Catalog view :

  1. Navigate to the Catalog -> Catalog views tab.
  2. Navigate to the détails page of the Catalog view
  3. Select the desired products or variants (depending on the view) by clicking their checkboxes.
  4. Clic on Remove Product (or Variant)
❗️

Important

  • When a product is removed, all associated variants are automatically removed.
  • If the last remaining variant of a product is removed, the product is no longer displayed.

❗️

Important

Catalog Views can also be created/updated via Import API through the Data Hub. At the moment, this method supports Catalog Views based exclusively on assortment rules.

Other rule types, as well as manual product or variant additions and removals, are not currently supported when creating or updating Catalog Views through import.
