Cache Navigation Categories Launch Guide

This guide explains how to launch the navigation category cache job from the back office.

What Is the Navigation Category Cache

The navigation category cache stores category information used to build menus and navigation paths on the front end. It helps the system load categories faster without recalculating their structure each time.

When categories are modified in the back office, this cache can become outdated. Refreshing it ensures that the navigation displayed to users always matches the latest category data.

When to Refresh the Cache

The navigation category cache can be refreshed in the following situations:

  • When new categories are created or existing ones are deleted.
  • When the category hierarchy (parent/child relationships) is modified.
  • When a category name or status is updated.
  • When categories are deleted.
  • After a catalogue indexation, if it impacts product visibility within categories.

Where to Launch the Job

You can launch the navigation category cache job directly from the Data Hub in the back office.

  • Go to Data HubCache navigation categories.
  • Click Import to start the cache refresh job.

Once launched, the system processes the cache and updates the navigation structure.

History

The History table, below the import options, displays all past cache refreshes, including:

  • Start date – when the job was executed.
  • Duration (sec) – total processing time.
  • Status – result of the operation (e.g., Success, Failed).

This allows you to verify that the cache job ran successfully and completed as expected.
